Dr. Nick Baboulas BSc Hon. (Chemistry), ND
Eirini Healing Solutions, Founder
To give you a little background on Dr. Baboulas, he completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry, specializing in Pharmaceutical and Biological Chemistry. Before entering into a life of medicine, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry, for a contract research company, doing drug discovery, as a Medicinal Chemist. He enjoyed his work, as it was challenging, involved patience, problem solving capabilities, group/independent work, and he had to be very creative in order to be successful. He then went on to complete his Medical training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), passed his Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations (NPLEX) which are professional licensing exams administered by the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners (NABNE). Dr. Baboulas is a fully qualified, board certified, licensed Naturopathic Doctor practicing in the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario, Canada. He is also a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), as well as other organizations/associations.
The main influence for changing his career path in a single moment and never regretting or looking back at the decision, is simply put, his sister Katerina. She had struggled with a complex chronic illness for a little less than a decade, where it slowly took her life away and made her bedridden within a few months of its onset. It has been a painful, complex, and educational journey that she has gone through up to this moment, where she has been through the medical system in Canada without positive results; went to specialists across North America, done many different treatments, talked to world renown doctors in their respective fields, but all fell short in aiding her to wellness individually. Dr. Baboulas work and life experience have lead him to where he is today and he knows that through his sister’s illness, he has learned so much more about health and true healing that cannot be learned in a classroom. His sister’s journey to regaining her optimal health has taught him about different therapies/modalities that you do not learn in medical school. This drive for finding ways to help his patients with any health concern they might have (from acute pain to complex chronic conditions) in order to reach their optimal health has made Dr. Baboulas travel across North America and Europe to seek out continuing education courses/workshops/seminars/internships from World renowned Doctors in their respective fields in order to learn and better himself as a Doctor.
Dr. Baboulas experiences have shaped his way/philosophy on how to view disease/illness and the patient. He tries to understand the patient’s current pathological state from a Bioregulatory/Biological Medicine standpoint (based on his education in European Biological Medicine). He has also trained with Dr. Thomas Rau MD (European Biological Medicine Specialist) of the Paracelsus Klinic and is affiliated with the clinic in Switzerland (https://www.paracelsus.com/), where he has trained in order to better serve his patients.
He is an eclectic Doctor, where he utilizes whatever modalities best fit his patient’s condition/current state. One of the many special therapies that Dr. Baboulas has trained in and utilizes in his practice is Low Dose Immunotherapy (LDI) coined by Dr. Ty Vincent MD and Low Dose Allergy Immunotherapy (LDA) by Dr. W. A. Shrader Jr., MD. These immunotherapies can be very beneficial in Environmental Allergies (i.e. hay fever, asthma, animal dander, dust, food/chemical sensitivities, etc), also for those with immune mediated inflammatory conditions (i.e. Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Endometriosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lyme Disease, Autism (ASD), Yeast sensitivities, etc), and other autoimmune/hypersensitivity conditions.
The field of Medicine is vast, ever evolving, with many unknowns and puzzles that still need to be discovered and solved. This is why Dr. Baboulas understands that education is a continuous life long process, making him a steadfast student for life. The goal has always been to add any new skill/tool to his repertoire/toolbox that he knows will make him be a better Doctor that will allow for better success when treating his patients.
